Re: “Greg Fishel was once a Limbaugh-loving climate skeptic. Now he’s fighting global warming.

I would not have thought it possible for one paragraph (the one posted by Todd Nelson) to contain so many climate falsehoods. To correct the most obvious:
1) Satellite temperature observations confirm the same surface (ocean & land) temperature warming (0.5 C) over the past 40 years (see https://www.skepticalscience.com/satellite-measurements-warming-troposphere.htm). To claim otherwise (a favorite global-warming-denying tactic, as seen in several comments above) is belied by all known data.

2) The problem is not that none of the IPCC's 28 models have accurately predicted observed warming changes over the past 20 years. The fact is that several of the models (with slightly different assumptions about ambient conditions, such as the input rate of CO2 into the atmosphere) make accurate predictions. (Easy to check in the latest IPCC report online.) But it will take more years of data-vs-prediction comparison to tease out which one does best (in addition to seeing how further CO2 atmospheric input will change now that we have recognized the problem and are starting to do something about it).

3) As one of the very few astrophysicists living in Durham, I find the claim that a majority of my colleagues believes in a coming ice age out-loud-laughable. He would not be able to find 2 (and I'm even allowing that there has to be one crazy astrophysicist out there somewhere).
