Re: “Prized, Pricey Pie: Carrboro's Pizzeria Mercato Reestablishes the Barker Family Among the Triangle's Best

Mercato Pizzeria review is way off on at least two counts: (1) rhe crust on my pizza was so hard and crisp that I couldn't bend it much less cut with a knife and fork or barely chew it and (2) the rankings are completely upside down; Pizzeria Toro clearly belongs at the top of the list.

Re: “Gray Brooks will change the name of "Hattie Mae Williams Called Me Captain"

The level of emotion, vitriol, and in some cases misunderstanding about this fairly simple and, in the end, personal matter is amazing. Folks, we're at a point where the world conflict is about to explode, where our national government is unable or unwilling to govern, our state leaders are trying hard to take us back to the 1860"s and you're hyper-venting about someone's choice of the name for a restaurant. Perhaps the name was not the wisest choice; but how dare you question or misrepresent the motivation and reasoning of someone who wanted to honor and perpetuate the name of a person who was an important life influence. Get a life!

Re: “New York Times article on North Carolina women chefs does a disservice to them and the profession

With all respect - chill out. The most important thing about being mentioned in a newspaper is that they spell your name right.
