Re: “North Raleigh residents want grocery proposal shelved

Resident questions: What about the large number of 18-wheeler trucks that will be traveling on Falls of Neuse and through our neighborhoods? Morgan Property Group and Publix's rep told the mayor and invited residents Publix doesn't have 18-wheelers and only three 10-wheeler trucks per day would be traveling to Publix! To stock a 50,000 sq. ft. store! They have not addressed our concerns about the watershed protection and 40% forestation requirement. With large paved areas, road grease, oil, antifreeze and trash will be washed into the watershed. The Falls of Neuse and Dunn Rd. property is on the Richland Creek watershed, which is immediately adjacent to the Falls Lake watershed! This is where all the water supply for Raleigh comes from!
