Jessy Carolina and the Hot Mess, Gmish Klezmer Band

When: Wed., Sept. 2, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $7
Nightlight has a reputation as one of the best spots to hear the loudest and weirdest music in the Triangle, but the room is consistently one of the best spaces for old-time and traditional stuff, too. New York’s Jessy Carolina and the Hot Mess lean more toward ragtime and jazz, playing hot and fast tunes that may get you moving. You might recognize one of her cohorts as Nightlight semi-regular Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton, who joins on banjo. —Allison Hussey
