I just want to add that part of what residents in North Raleigh are concerned about is the watershed. Falls Lake provides the water to our fair city, and we must protect it. The development is encroaching past Strickland/Durant roads, which is protected land. I can't even expand the footprint of my home (on a nearly 1 acre lot) because of impermeable surface ordinances. These are highly restrictive and not my favorite aspect of my property, but they exist for a reason. To give a developer carte blanche to ignore them is dangerous. I'm not saying that's what the UDO does, but it's a slippery slope. We must protect our natural resources.
