Jeff Dunham

When: Thu., Oct. 7, 7:30 p.m. 2010
Price: $43.50

Last year, Jeff Dunham held the dubious record of having a show on Comedy Central that premiered to the channel's highest ratings ever, yet still got canceled after seven episodes. Later, he was featured on 30 Rock in a story line where the characters attempted to find a "Middle America"-friendly comedian for their show within a show. Beloved by audiences but loathed by critics, Dunham is one of those great dichotomies in American comedy. Oh, and he's a ventriloquist—one whose characters include the redneck "Bubba J" and, most significantly, "Achmed the Dead Terrorist" (to be fair, Achmed often denies he's a Muslim). Look, either you like him or you don't, and considering he's been the top-grossing stand-up act in North America for two years straight, he's doing something right. —Zack Smith
