Re: “Record Review: Raleigh's Naked Naps Explore Urgency on Year of the Chump

Remember that time the "journalist" took to the comments section to fire off a snarky response when called out on the fact that Clearly their homework hadn't been done before they published an article. Naked Naps is a major fixture in this scene and has been for a while. It seems reasonable you would have seen them or perhaps checked out their details at least tangentially in the more than a year period that they've had a new drummer or noticed Meier's several new projects he left NN to start, especially before publishing a review. Indy Week, I mean what happened to the Grayson days? Come on.

Pretty sure John Meier hasn't been in this band for quite some time and Chris Grubbs wrote and recorded this record, "music writer".

Re: “Following Accusations of Rampant Misogyny and More, a Raleigh Promoter's Career Is Effectively Over. What Comes Next?

Continuing with James' thought, disappointing (but not shocking) that the journalists who charged themselves with reporting on this pursued it with the same bias, not citing the frustrated professional partnership between Vanvorst and Reed at younger brother that lasted several years and ended abruptly, giving at least a possible reason to employ hyperbole in a angry purposeful Facebook post (I myself received a personal message on Facebook from Vanvorst late the night before stating it was time to take Craig down and asking to have her back).

I've had a lot of issues with Craig. Our friendship ended more than 5 years ago because I didn't like how he treated people. I've personally had conversations with venue owners in Raleigh about what I thought was the wrong approach to booking in our scene. Not being down with younger brother was a catalyst to me starting a major house venue that ran for three years and sought to be everything opposite. I'm not team Craig, but the way this all was handled startled me.

I'd like to volunteer the possibility that people who act in the way Craig has may have substance or emotional issues they need support in addressing. People fuck up, it's bullshit that Craig has been thoughtless in shit he has said to others for years. I think we stay stronger as a scene when we find the empathy for that. There are too far lines, but to the best of my knowledge from the accounts I've seen online Craig hasn't violated anyone physically. Another individual was cited to have in the same thread (committing rape) and was mentioned around 10 times in the thread, yet I'm reading about Craig today and haven't heard anything since on the other.

Just one more person adding their thoughts in this forum.
