Jason Derulo, Sammy Adams, Chill Moody

When: Fri., Nov. 1, 8:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $20
Though Miami-born singer and dancer Jason Derulo enlisted American Idol fans to help him complete the lyrics to "Undefeated" last year, he's actually an accomplished pop and R&B songwriter, having penned songs for the likes of Lil Wayne, Diddy, Pitbull, Danity Kane and Sean Kingston before trying his luck as a performer. "Undefeated" failed to reach the success of the rest of his singles (which you'll recognize from his tendency to give himself a shout-out), particularly hip-hop leaning tracks like "Whatcha Say," "Ridin' Solo" and "The Other Side." Chill Moody and Sammy Adams open. This N.C. State homecoming concert is one of the least remarkable in years, but at least it begins with a pep rally, right? —Spencer Griffith
