You're right Randy, I should have called you for comment. I incorporated your remarks into the blog post.

Re: “Welcome to Raleigh, Donald Trump, you beautiful performance artist, you

David McKnight, I’m not denouncing Southern states’ popular culture, but rather the political views and unapologetic ignorance of many (most?) of those who subscribe to aspects of those particular cultures. That’s great that you threw down with some duck hunting gear clad gals in West Texas, but when Phil Robertson uses his national platform to say that gay people are “full of murder, envy, strife, hatred. They are insolent, arrogant, God-haters. They are heartless, they are faithless, they are senseless, they are ruthless," that offends me. Just like when Donald Trump uses some bizarre golf metaphor to denounce gay marriage, and just like basically everything else that Donald Trump says. So whose character and record did I misrepresent here? Exactly how did I journalistically go beyond the political excesses of the candidates themselves on the campaign trail? I don’t remember saying anything about South American refugees at all, but I think it’s clear that electing someone like Trump would not be in the best interest of any refugee/immigrant group, or women, or gay people. And while the use of F bombs in my writing aren’t my doing or preference but rather my editor’s, I think you’re naïve if you think kids old enough to read about a local musician in a newspaper haven’t heard the word before, or know what it means. Give them some credit.

Re: “Welcome to the INDY's Raleigh City Council live blog

Roy, I asked John Boyette in the City's Communications Dept. what "other uses" that money is going towards. He said it is going toward affordable housing in Southeast Raleigh specifically. I'll let you know if I find out anything else.

Re: “Raleigh one of nation's most affordable cities, say people who've never tried to buy a house here

Right, those super happening and urban N. Raleigh subdivisions and county neighborhoods...also not affordable.
