Jamie Laval

When: Sun., March 10, 3 p.m. 2013
Price: Free

If Irish and Scottish fiddle tunes are your thing, PineCone has the show for you this weekend: Masterful Celtic violinist Jamie Laval visits from Asheville for an afternoon concert in the museum's Daniels Auditorium as part of PineCone's "Music in the Carolinas" series. A classically trained instrumentalist, Laval turned to traditional forms after college and has released two exemplary albums—his 2003 solo debut Shades of Green and a 2007 collaboration with mandolinist Ashley Broder, whimsically titled Zephyr in the Confetti Factory. —Peter Blackstock
