I wait with bated breath for the day that someone in the press with an actual backbone asks one of these hybrid Christian-Randians like Ryan or Bachmann to quote a passage or an ideal of Rand's that Jesus would agree with or vice-versa.

These people's existence calls to mind one of Rand's contemporaries, George Orwell, and his concept of, "Doublethink," from his novel, "1984." Doublethink is the ability to hold and believe in two diametrically opposing thoughts or philosophies no matter how much they contradict each other. It was a method of keeping the population of Oceania, even its ruling elite, subjugated, without having to commit oneself to reasoning things out... much like the Christian-Randians.

Rand's, "philosophy," is definitely doubleplusungood.
