Re: “What About the Pigs?

Thank you so much, Ellen, for pointing out this glaring oversight. You articulated so perfectly what these innocent souls are enduring. When we know better, we ought to do better - and YOU are doing amazing things like writing letters like this to help educate other compassionate people that animals - all animals, regardless of intelligence - deserve our love and care. That is the only way toward a peaceful world, in my view. These are complex issues, and veganism is a daunting notion for most people, but with you and others in our flourishing community, I have no doubt that things will change much sooner than we ever could have imagined. Keep kicking ass for animals. The path will become clearer and clearer as we forge ahead, doing what is necessary to shine a light on this hidden atrocity and educating others about the beauty and promise of veganism. Indy Week, thank you for publishing this letter and we hope you'll consider writing another article from our perspective. Sincerely, James DeAlto, Co-Founder, Vegans for Peace www.vegansforpeace.org
