Re: “Punk 101

I'm very glad I stumbled upon your article. It is a very common misconception that punk was created in one place at one time. I have heard Ramones, The Stooges, Iggy, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Richard Hell, Misfits, Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers. The Ramones are the biggest sellouts in the history of punk rock, marketing their look and label to be sold in the local mall in stores like jc penny and belks. posters at fye or bobbleheads at gas stations. Ramones were punk for about 10 minutes, and then they broke mainstream. Mainstream punk is an oxymoron. Your article is pointless, and very misinformed.
