Israel Nash, The Pines

When: Sun., Oct. 18, 8:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $12
Despite a sound that crosses into folk, country and other aspects of rustic Americana, Israel Nash launched his career in New York. (The Missouri native is now a more-expected Texan.) With sad harmonies and dripping pedal steel, last year’s Rain Plains was catnip for NPR listeners hoping to get hopped up on sedate craftsmanship. Israel Nash’s Silver Season, out this month, is darker, louder and livelier. —Jeff Klingman
