"Is the State Doing Enough to Protect Your Water?"

DENR staff monitoring water quality have been cut by 25 percent. At the same time, the water quality section of DENR has been reorganized and merged with the Division of Water Resources. Last year DENR issued a mission statement that questions the department’s willingness to apply science to protect our water quality and also rejected EPA grants totaling ~$600,000. A federal grand jury is looking into McCrory Administration/DENR activities related to the Dan River Coal Ash spill. More questions arise about DENR's true mission and who they protect, industry or NC's citizens. Former DENR employees will address these questions and more.
