Internet Summit | Raleigh Convention Center | Page: Lectures Etc. | Indy Week
This is a past event.
When: Nov. 18-19 2015

Rich people! Would you like to get even richer ... on the Internet? Less rich people! Would you like to get rich, and can you borrow at least $345 until then? The Internet Summit, an annual conference in cities including Atlanta, Dallas, Washington, D.C. and good old Raleigh, is a crash course in the "premier digital strategies [for] transforming the future of the digital commerce ecosystem." The furious networking begins Wednesday morning with workshops on content marketing, user experience and search engine optimization, followed by two actionable-item-filled days of presentations from employees of Uber, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google, StumbleUpon and other Internet companies large and small. (Warning: Do not give the LinkedIn guy your email address.) You will absorb counterintuitive marketing ideas ("forget the customer," "forget keywords"). You'll learn "How to Make Email Awesome" from Litmus director Justine Jordan and how to "Become a Market Measurement Ninja" from Forrester Research analyst Tina Moffett. You can get "UX Insights from a Drunk Guy"—at 10 a.m. This sounds promising. And you've got to give it up to the Internet Summiteers for landing Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons as their Lunch Keynote on Thursday. It can't be unrelated that the after-party features an old-school rap star in the flesh, Digital Underground's Shock G ("the one who put the satin in your panties"). Warning: Internet entrepreneurs doing the Humpty Dance while tipsy on local craft beer is something you can't un-see. The $895 ticket better come with a fucking pony. 8:30 a.m.7:30 p.m. Weds.; 7:30 a.m.8 p.m. Thurs., $345$895, 500 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh,

919-996-8500, Howe
