In Response: Weaving by Ann Roth & Vita Plume

When: May 31-Sept. 6 2012
2 contemporary weavers respond to objects from the museum's permanent collection. Vita Plume uses portraits from early 1900s Appalachians as inspiration for her hand-woven, digital Jacquard loom works that explore the instability of visual & cultural identity. Ann Roth finds inspiration in quilts whose repetition of geometric shapes, juxtapositions of patterns & color combinations influence her ikat, hand-woven textiles.
