Idiocracy | Colony Theater | Special Events | Indy Week
This is a past event.

When: Wed., June 19, 7:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $5

Few films have had cult status forced on them like Mike Judge's 2006 follow-up to Office Space, the tale of an average Joe (Luke Wilson) who wakes up from suspended animation to a future in which excessive breeding of idiots has resulted in an America where crops are watered with energy drinks, the most popular show is "Ow! My Balls!" and Starbucks offers sexual services with your latte. The result baffled the studios, which dumped Indiocracy into a handful of theaters. But while it meanders and has several jokes that go on way too long, it also has some colorful visuals (city-sized big-box stores) and plenty of acid satire. If only it didn't feel like we were already living in those times. —Zack Smith
