Re: “Dan Douglas' European vision for our capital city

I am so amused by the sceptics that arise to rail aganist anyone with vision, backed up by dedicated research and education as is the case with Mr. Douglas. Are my fellow southerners upset at the fact that the Europeans have actually figured out how to work, live and play in the 21st century, and serve up a model for the USA to follow? Similar plans are being drawn up for cities all across the US and those who fail to take bold steps in creative economic development will fail in the post-American global economy. The comments here so far sound as if the good old suthern folks want to protect their iditoic suburban lives, while they fail to capture the essence of this plan, which is NOT lifestyle-based but about economics. Jesse H is dead. Time to accept new ideas ya'll!
