Re: “The Vintage church in Raleigh attracts young college students, but does its anti-women stance collide with its public image?

@Jane Porter It was not my intent to imply leading a community group was equivalent to the position of an elder. My intent was to list some of the many ways women are voluntarily serving in the church. I acknowledged that Vintage has not ordained women to elder positions and as far as I know it is the only position Vintage has restricted to men based on their reading of Scripture.

While it is true Vintage does not ordain women, women do serve in the church as deacons and community group leaders, serve Communion, play/sing in the bands, read Scripture in the services, and teach our children. It's not a perfect church, so I'm not surprised to hear some people have been hurt by things said or done. Saddened, but not surprised. I do believe there are many positive efforts by and aspects to the church. Sermons are available at the church's website to hear what is being taught at the church.
