Re: “Cry of Love vocalist Kelly Holland died depressed, but not alone

I first heard "Peace Pipe" as a new release while in Utah. I was intrigued at how good the music was and by the fact that the band was from my native North Carolina. However, as time went on I never heard of or from them again. For the longest time I was never sure if "Peace Pipe" was the name of the band, the song or both - the announcer did not elaborate the first & only time I heard it. Now that I've retired from the Army I have had time to research more and finally find the song on YouTube... and this article. Man, what a shameful waste - Bob Davis & Chuck Harrell couldn't have said or clarified it better! I would have loved to find a treasure trove of more music by Kelly Holland & the band, but I'll have to content myself with "Brother" and "Diamonds & Debris" wherever I can find them. FWIW, RIP Kelly - from a fellow sufferer of extreme depression. It hurts whenever I see others lose such a fight - fellow veterans, friends & relatives or favorite musicians notwithstanding. I just hope the peace he found afterward was worth it for him - in spite of the pain those who love him are still feeling over his loss. It just goes to show how special the guy was to those who knew him...
