Holiday Storytelling with Donald Davis

When: Sat., Dec. 18, 11 a.m. 2010

For many years, nationally acclaimed North Carolina storyteller Donald Davis has delighted audiences with "Stories for the Holiday Season." This retired Methodist minister from the Southern Appalachians was born into a family of traditional raconteurs and absorbed the rich tales of his forebears who had lived on the land since 1781. Centuries later, Davis transports audiences from gales of laughter to sheets of tears with those stories. The event, sponsored by McIntyre's Books, begins at 11 a.m.; there is no admission charge, but canned food donations will be collected for the Chatham Outreach Alliance. —Christina Cass
