Holiday Program with Charles Frazier

When: Sat., Dec. 1, 7 p.m. 2012
Price: Free

Though Charles Frazier still may have not quite justified the infamous $8 million advance he got for Thirteen Moons, the follow-up to his massive best seller Cold Mountain, his third novel, Nightwoods, has gotten better reviews and reader responses. It's a tale of an isolated woman who inherits two young twins and the dangerous force that comes to threaten all of them. This is Quail Ridge Books' annual holiday reading event, and includes refreshments, readings and reminiscences. If you haven't heard, this could be the last with Nancy Olson as the store's proprietor. It all starts at 7 p.m. —Zack Smith
