Hindugrass | NCSU Campus: Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre | Clubs & Concerts | Indy Week
This is a past event.

When: Fri., April 8, 7 & 9 p.m. 2011
Price: $15

Hindugrass, Durham's unique India-meets-Appalachia jam band, showcases the complex melodies and rhythmic structures that have been the band's backbone for a decade. The group's core concept of Indian folk bluegrass plays with the cerebral complexity of classical music. Of late, they've been busy tweaking some new tunes. "Hindugrass is mostly busy developing a bunch of new material for an album we'll record this summer," says bandleader and multi-instrumentalist John Heitzenrater. Some of that music, he hints, will debut at the show. The band plays separate sets at 7 and 9 p.m.; tickets are $15. —Ashley Melzer
