Just more than 40 years after disbanding, Heartwood reunites for a three-night stand featuring most of the original lineup. While opening for the likes of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Earl Scruggs and Asleep at the Wheel during the mid-’70s, this band seemed destined for bigger stages. Rich in multi-part harmonies, the septet’s breezy country rock recordings still hold up, boding well for these shows. With fans flocking from far-flung locations due to Heartwood’s stints in Athens, Greenville and the Triangle, attendees are asked to bring a throwback picture from the band’s heyday. —Spencer Griffith
