You know it's October when theaters and TV stations start showing horror films in preparation for Halloween. The Colony brings in the 1978 grandfather of slasher flicks as part of its Cinema Overdrive series. Jamie Lee Curtis, in her film debut, plays Laurie Strode, a teen stalked by murderer Michael Myers. As she babysits some neighborhood kids, her friends get killed and she eventually has to fight him off. Horror-meister John Carpenter directs. Tickets are $5, and the show begins at 8 p.m. —Sarah Ewald
