Gringo Star, Echo Courts

When: Sun., Oct. 4, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $7
In name-checking The Beatles’ drummer, Atlanta’s Gringo Star makes no effort to mask a great affection for the Fab Four. That affinity spans the The Beatles’ catalog, too, from the charming early years to the paisley experimentalism of the later stuff. But there’s always been more than a hint, too, of garage-punk sneer in Gringo Starr’s punchy tunes, making them kissing cousins to fellow ATLiens Black Lips. —Patrick Wall
