Re: “Love on the half shell

Michael_45, Your heart is in the right place and your arguments at first appear logically but they have to be reexamined. There is sex and then there is violence. The two are distinct. It so happens that violence can be made all the more more brutal by adding the sexual aspect of rape, but to reverse the argument. To say that rejoicing in the human body leads to violence/rape is completely flaud. It is argued in some societies that covering women from head to foot in dark cloths shading everything from their ankles to thier eyes is a way of protecting them from the unrestrainable sexual desire of men which leads to rape. This is ridiculous. The question has to be asked, does it work? In societies where women's body's are completely hidden from the public view, are there rights more or less? is there more or less violence? Clothing which rejoices in the female form is just that, rejoicing. The only ones who use it as a justification for rape are crooked attorney's and rapists themselves--not a group I would recommend to dictate the behavior of women.
