Re: “GOP's new districts: Whacking up Wake (or, No soup for y'all)

#1 The Art Pope faction is NOT such a fan of the fence riding Joe Bryan who is not very popular in eastern Wake County. Check your facts. He gets elected due to North Raleigh and Cary - if joe Bryan was to run in "his backyard" he would be beat to smitherenes. Know why? We know him and what he really does and doesn't do - the rest of the folks think they know him but they are just buying his line.

Popular Darren Jackson? Hardly. His district is now a democratic majority with African Americans as the key vote. Brace yourself popular absentee legislator. A minority should and will run against you. Bye Bye.

#2 Assuming Jennifer Weiss, Deborah Ross Move to run - what? What about the people who live in those districts. These women may have been effective once upon a time but they are not royalty guaranteed a house seat for life. Move? What? People in those areas may have a candidate without a "move in" from one of these women.

Deborah Ross has been in a minority district she acquired by splitting the vote with some African Americans so rightfully so, this district is African American as it was intended.
