Re: “Delta Rae's Carry the Fire

Delta Rae is spectacular!

As smart articulate caring individuals, as talented musicians and as a creative 4-part-harmony band with killer rhythm. Please see them for yourself and make up your own mind. The band is getting noticed... not rich. That may come, but for now they are just being recognized nationwide by some amazing music scouts and agents with leading independent and major record labels. However, I love seeing all the snipes coming from their small-minded home townies! Don't uplift the gifted and hardworking, denigrate them and show the world how truly smart you are by castigating one of the bright-lights born of your ilk. Legendary author Reynolds Price LOVED Delta Rae. He penned songs for James Taylor and a few books I'm told. I'm not sure he's southern enough for his opinion to matter and surly Seymour Stein, a New Yorker doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to identifying "southern" talent. Where Delta Rae's song "Hey, Hey, Hey" sent Seymour Stein running to pronounce a great song, band and scrambling to sign a contract, a more knowledgeable, brilliant though unknown and unqualified genius at The Indy had the REAL INSIGHT! While no-name was eviscerating Delta Rae's CD, MTV posted and article stating"...what would happen if you took the sweet male-female harmonies of Fleetwood Mac, the grittiness of Mumford & Sons and then blended them with the stompy fervor of Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" and some bluegrass twang? OK, we actually have wondered that, and we can now confirm that the answer is Delta Rae."

There is a reason there is no Music Industry in NC... they eat their own!

Delta Rae, a little advice, Illegitimi non carborundum!

Re: “Delta Rae's Carry the Fire

Who is Andy Bernard? You are as bad as Grayson with his obscure "look what I know" references. Funny how big time critics and producers love Delta Rae but small town small minded individuals in Durham (or Raleigh,Chappel Hill) know better. For the record Delta Rae is one of the best bands ever to come out of the Triangle, its sad they get respect everywhere but home!

Re: “Delta Rae's self-titled debut

Wow! You totally blew this! Delta Rae is so DIFFERENT and their expansive following should be your first clue. Have you seen them in concert?

Their vocal arrangements are stunning and their lyrics are deep, intricate and very moving. 4 lead singers, perfect blended harmonies, rhythm guitar & piano punctuated with drums and bass plus lyrics that make you think and feel; and you come up with insincere and hackneyed? Find another line of work, Delta Rae deserves better.
