Glass Animals

When: Tue., Oct. 13, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $20
Like its noodle bar neighbors alt-J, the Oxford quartet Glass Animals specializes in an amorphous style of rock that relies on moody accents—snaps, moans, the occasional chime—in order to get across the fact that, yes, someone is having feelings right now. The band has somehow been tagged “alternative R&B,” a label that must come from the velvety texture of David Bayley’s voice. But his band’s debut, Zaba, is so lacking in oomph that it feels far from anything that could be called “soul.” —Maura Johnston
