Re: “We're killing our beaches

I and my wife are new residents of Swansboro, moving here about 16 months, Nov 06. My new career and frequent visiting of beaches (fishing, shelling and walking) were factors which determined our decision to relocate here. Thank you for info and insite about how local municipalities and politics manage our environment, namely beaches. As I have supected all along, private money and politics, not the needs of the general public, make the decisions. Namely, Bogue Inlet Pier-- WHY HASN'T THE STATE OF NC OR EMERALD ISLE stepped in to make this purchase and preserve this fishing recreation and beach access for the public??? Once gone (purchased by a developer), it is gone forever. joe h
