Ginger | Colony Theater | Special Events | Indy Week
This is a past event.
When: Wed., May 9, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: $5.50

"Every man wanted her ... no man could tame her!" Man, sleaze cinema ain't what it used to be. I blame the Internet and pay cable for this. But you just don't get sexploitation with a plot anymore, unless you count True Blood on TV. Once upon a time we had the likes of 1971's Ginger, the tale of a badass female detective (Cheri Caffaro) with the conviction to take down a suburban drug and prostitution ring and the libido to put herself into the action. "Her body is her weapon: She can cut you, kill you or cure you!" Is it any wonder this inspired a series? And to think, the closest we have to this today is Jennifer Love Hewitt in The Client List. See what we once had in this Cinema Overdrive screening at 8 p.m., complete with some classic trailers. Tickets are $5.50. —Zack Smith
