The Alliance for Historic Hillsborough presents “Ghosts of the Confederacy,” an hour-long guided tour of the Confederate dead buried at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church cemetery. Learn about a general’s son killed on his first day in the Cavalry; the sons of a tailor and a governor who entered the war together, only one surviving the bloodiest day of battle in US history; and the son of a Rector, whose grief left him incapable of officiating his son’s funeral in the last days of the war. The AHH offers guided tours the second Saturday of each month or by appointment.
