Re: “Sweeney Todd

The depth and complexity of the characters in this production, combined with thoughtful ponderings on social and spiritual issues, makes this a truly captivating interpretation of Sweeney. Horror is there too, but it's carefully worked into a meaningful context, and somehow it comes across overall as a tale of inspiration and hope ( to the extent that any show can where most of the characters die). I saw this production with a confirmed Horror-Hater (yes, capital H's) who would normally never watch anything like Sweeney (if it weren't for our daughter being in the show) and she absolutely loved it, twice! Great job Patrick Torres and everybody else!
