Re: “Craft beer can still make you an alcoholic

Thank you for raising this Ryan. I too have concerns about the craft brewing industry. I am not against craft brewing and specialty beers, but am more with Big Alcohol Industry using the changes in legislation (i.e. "Pop the Cap" bill of 2003, allowing an increase of ABV from 6% to 15%) to create flavored alcohol beverages, aka "alco-pops" which are marketed to a great extent to those under 21. Because alco-pops are sweet, fruity flavored, and packaged in "cool" energy drink designs, they are favored by teens, and even tweens. With as much as 15% ABV, can pack a drunk punch in one 16oz can be equivalent to 3 cans of a regular beer! This marketing towards kids is alarming, when we think about the fact that early onset of drinking increases the risk of developing alcohol dependency by as much as 4x!
