Gaspard&Dancers | Duke Campus: Reynolds Industries Theater | Stage | Indy Week
This is a past event.

When: Sept. 18-19 2015

REYNOLDS INDUSTRIES THEATER—Choreographer Gaspard Louis continues to follow his Haitian muse in his modern dance company's sixth annual performance at Duke. After his group reprises 2013's Souke and last year's L'Esprit, the last two parts of his trilogy on the 2010 earthquake that devastated his home country, he extends his meditation on its aftermath in the world premiere of the companion piece, Tota Pulchra Es—You Are All Beautiful. Mallarmé Chamber Players will accompany the performers in a commissioned score by Bill Banfield. The evening also includes Louis' dark, percussive duet, Magical Cusp. 8 p.m., $12–$27, 125 Science Drive, Durham, 919-684-4444, —Byron Woods
