Gang Green, Antagonizers ATL, The Dirty Politicians

When: Sat., Oct. 12, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $10-12
Where Boston hardcore hardliners SS Decontrol sang accusations such as "You have no guts/ You'd rather get high," fellow Massachusetts punks Gang Green gladly plead guilty with their own hits: "Alcohol," "Let's Drink Some Beer," "Another Wasted Night." Having made their debut on the influential This Is Boston Not L.A. compilation, Gang Green endured near-constant lineup changes to amass a catalog of songs offering a raucous counterpoint to the straight-edge hardcore that most defined Boston's '80s hardcore scene. Their influence now extends well beyond hardcore; they've been covered by Metallica and Dropkick Murphys. Atlanta's Agonizers ATL and Chapel Hill's reunited Dirty Politicians open. —Bryan C. Reed
