Gabe and Tahmique, Durty Dub, Sky Blew

When: Thu., July 2, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5-$7
If you’ve ever doubted Durham School of the Arts’ role as a true art school, two of its recent graduates—jazz pianist and songwriter Gabe Fox-Peck and Tahmique Cameron, of the duo Young Bull—are poised to change that perception. They go for jazz-to-R&B crossover glory on their recent single “Sophisticated,” a pleasing taste of what’s to come from their upcoming debut. Since this show marks the beginning of their adult career, we should let them get familiar with this Durham stage before our demands get greater. —Eric Tullis
