Full Frame Third Fridays

When: Fri., Aug. 16, 7 p.m. 2013
Price: Free

Quickly, tally up everything in your fridge and kitchen cupboard. Between the dried beans, defrosting salmon fillets and cauliflower heads, chances are good you could survive quite a while without leaving the house. So why do you go out to restaurants? Full Frame Film Festival 2013 alum Spinning Plates posits that dining out is about entertainment at least as much as it's about taking care of growling stomachs. Director Joseph Levy takes us inside restaurants in Chicago, Tucson and Balltown, Iowa, to reveal them as family dining rooms, community gatherings and performance art spaces. Come hungry, leave hungrier. The Full Frame Theater is located in the American Tobacco Campus, on the ground floor of the Power Plant building, just north of the Lucky Strike tower. —Chris Vitiello
