Full Frame: I Am Breathing

When: Fri., June 21, 6:30 & 8:30 p.m. 2013
Price: Free

In the Triangle, our festivals are so good that they last all year. The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival spins reels year-round now at Durham's American Tobacco Campus in the Power Plant building (you can't miss the old-school marquee). Friday night they roll I Am Breathing, the moving ALS documentary by directors Emma Davie (U.K.) and Morag McKinnin (Denmark). The film shows the last months of Neil Platt's life as he succumbs to the disease, assembling writing and a memory box to leave behind for his infant son Oscar. It's a hard and triumphant look at one man's humanity set against his mortality. —Chris Vitiello
