Fu Manchu, Bloodnstuff, Double Negative

When: Tue., April 23, 8:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $13-15

The classic lineup of California stoner bros Fu Manchu didn't actually record The Action Is Go, the playful and memorable riff horde they'll perform in its entirety at this show. Following 1996's In Search Of..., half of the band actually split to head deeper into psychedelia as Nebula. This version of Fu Manchu is crunchier and more direct, fitting most of its burners within four-minute frames. That gives the riffs a little less time to sear into your memory, but this record's more dynamic and agile than most stoner rock efforts from this classic era. Bloodnstuff and Double Negative open. —Grayson Currin
