From Russia With Love

When: Thu., July 29, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $5

Stephen Colbert brags about the power of his "bump," when he endorses a guest that leads to a jump in said guest's popularity. But John F. Kennedy may have been the first to demonstrate this effect. When he listed Ian Fleming's fifth novel as one of his favorite books, the thriller became a best-seller after gaving languished stateside. (As it happens, the film of From Russia With Love was the last film Kennedy saw.) Here, Bond vies with the malicious organization SPECTRE, tries to find a special decoder and tangles with the alluring Tatiana Romanova (Daniela Bianchi) in what many consider the best Bond film. —Sarah Ewald
