From F to M to Octopus

When: Fri., Feb. 15, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: Free

Sam Peterson is a human conjugation: He has changed; he is changing; he will continue to change. Born Samantha, Peterson's "one-human show" From F to M to Octopus narrates his female-to-male transition and supposes that the continuous feeling of change he experiences might be the "delicious, damnable, brutal heavy electric stabbings of evolution," as he wrote on his blog last November. From F to M to Octopus is also changing: Peterson's work is part of the Carolina Performing Arts Process Series, which is devoted to new works in development, and an earlier version was performed on campus last February as part of the Solo Takes On 3 festival of student work. This free performance runs Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. —Chris Vitiello
