Free Radon Test Kits

Durham County Cooperative Extension Service is partnering with the NC Radon Program to provide county residents a free radon test kit during January. Radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is invisible, odorless, & tasteless, is released harmlessly from the ground into outdoor air, but it can accumulate & reach harmful levels when trapped in homes & buildings. The EPA estimates radon is responsible for 21,000+ lung cancer deaths per year in the US. To receive a free radon test kit, call 919-560-0521 or visit
