Reggie is a small turkey from a family farm who never really fit in with his flock, and who becomes the U.S. president's pardoned turkey, enjoying a solitary life of pizza and TV. Jake is a self-sufficient, less-educated bird who escaped from a factory farm as a chick. The two travel back in time to the first Thanksgiving and erase turkeys from the holiday's inaugural menu. Owen Wilson, Amy Poehler, Woody Harrelson and George Takei lend their voices to these animated personalities. If you try making sense of the movie's rewriting of the history of the first Thanksgiving, the not-so-subtle comparison of the turkey flock to Native Americans and the near absence of any actual Native American people could become problematic. If you're in it for a few laughs and time-traveling turkeys, you're bound to gobble it up.
