Fred Thomas, Sir Edmund II

When: Wed., May 13, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5
For indie-pop purists long clued-in to Michigan’s Saturday Looks Good to Me, Fred Thomas’ latest songs might come as some small shock. His new solo record, All Are Saved, are sort of bitter and defiantly noisy. If his old Ramones homages were tight, this stuff is claustrophobic. But it carries an unmistakably urgent, fuck-it feeling, as if getting this stuff off his chest is more important than putting every note in its right place. —Jeff Klingman
