Frank Lentricchia

When: Wed., Jan. 30, 7 p.m. 2013

Duke University literature professor Frank Lentricchia's new thriller is titled The Accidental Pallbearer —not to be confused with the little-seen David Schwimmer movie The Pallbearer, where he plays a man accidentally asked to tote a coffin. Lentricchia's tale involves a private-investigator-turned-academic-turned-unemployed-man who moves back to Utica, N.Y., where he gets unwillingly involved with his political kingmaker father and a childhood-friend-turned-possibly-corrupt-chief-of-police. Lentricchia knows noir, having written volumes on Don DeLillo and James Ellroy. His reading begins at 7 p.m.; visit —Zack Smith
