Fossil Fair

When: Sat., Nov. 6, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 2010
Price: Free

When I was 4 years old, I had only one wish in life: to become an archaeologist. Somewhere between then and now I've rearranged my possible career choices, but I still haven't lost the magic of digging in the earth to find the past. Returning for the first time in three years, the museum's Fossil Fair brings visitors face-to-face with various fossils, including some discovered in Chatham County that are 230 million years old. Guests can ask questions of world-renowned paleontologists, bring in fossils to be identified and dig in Aurora fossil dirt for their own fossils to take home. The free event runs 9 a.m.–5 p.m. —Lauren Shute
