First Person Plural, Trillions, Joe Norkus

When: Fri., Aug. 30, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $5
First Person Plural is the budding project of former Annuals bassist Mike Robinson, who crosses fingerpicked acoustic guitar, hushed vocals and an intimate lyrical approach with a more subtle take on the complicated techniques of his recently disbanded Raleigh crew. Annuals frontman Adam Baker makes his final local performance for the foreseeable future as a member of Robinson's band. Richmond quartet The Trillions delivers dynamic power pop in bright, jagged bursts. Embarrassing Fruits frontman Joe Norkus presents solo material similar to the Fruits' slacker rock. (Norkus and The Trillions also join WOOL and Jesse Anderson Ainslie Saturday at The Cave in Chapel Hill.) —Spencer Griffith
